Lakeville police announced a multi-state investigation has connected a series of vape shop break-ins across Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Connecticut.

Police said the first break-in happened on Dec. 5 when suspects used a stolen vehicle to force entry into a building on Harding Street.

According to police, thousands of dollars in merchandise and cash were stolen. The building sustained extensive damage.

Officers said a second break-in happened on Dec. 13. Police said some of the same suspects were involved.

In both break-ins, a stolen Hyundai and Kia were used.

Detectives said they were able to identify the suspects through surveillance video and intelligence sharing.

The investigation linked thefts in Lakeville, Taunton, Acton, Bellingham, Saugus, Oxford, Waltham, Revere, Burrillville, Johnston and East Hartford.

Police said they recovered multiple stolen vehicles, approximately $11,000 in stolen merchandise and evidence linking the suspects to the break-ins.

One suspect, identified as 19-year-old Jokari Fuquay-Rios of Chelsea, was arraigned on Thursday, Jan. 29.

Fuquay-Rios is being held without bail until a pre-trial conference on Feb. 25.

Arrest warrants and criminal complaints have also be sought for the remaining suspects.

Police have not shared the names of the remaining suspects.

Officers said additional charges are expected.

Police said one suspect remains outstanding. Officers described the suspect as a Hispanic female believed to be from the Boston or Revere area.
