EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WJAR) — East Providence Mayor Bob DaSilva said that the city's firefighters battled an early morning industrial fire.

The fire happened around 3:40 a.m. at the Aspen Aerogels property.

Firefighters said the fire originated in an oven filtration system.

DaSilva said the firefighters were able to save the main building and there were no injuries.
