Students in Rhode Island plan walk out to join ICE protests
(WJAR) — Protests continue across the country, calling out the recent violence done by ICE and other Federal agents.
The tensions have now reached students here in Southern New England.

Students across the Providence Public School District are walking out to stand in solidarity with Minneapolis. The move is a way to call out the violence being done by federal agents.
It's also another call to action to remove ice completely from the Ocean State.
A flyer announcing the walkout says students want ICE out.

These countrywide protests have been sparked by the federal agent officer involved in the shootings and killings of Alex Pretti and Renee Good.
The call to remove ice from communities also coming from Massachusetts leaders.
Yesterday, Governor Healey introduced a new bill that would keep immigration enforcement out of protected spaces like schools and hospitals, something she sees as a necessity.

Brown University students and other colleges also planning to walk out to stand with Minneapolis
All the protesters will then march and end up outside the statehouse for a rally at 2:00 p.m. on Friday.
