Jefferson City man charged with child sex abuse, held without bond

A Jefferson City man was in the Cole County Jail, accused of child sex abuse.
Prosecutors charged Michael L. Minor, 48, with two counts of First Degree Child Molestation and two counts of Statutory Sodomy/Deviate Sexual Intercourse/Person Less Than 12 Years of Age.
Court documents state that Jefferson City police started investigating on January 8, 2026.
The day before, the ten-year-old victim reported the abuse to an employee of the Missouri Children’s Division and a Cole County Sheriff’s deputy.
The child said the abuse had happened several times between July 2023 and September 2025.
Jefferson City police took Minor to the police department for an interview on Thursday, January 15, 2026.
The documents state that Minor invoked his rights and did not make a statement.
Minor was being held without bond in the Cole County Jail.
