No one expected the Patriots to be here in late January, let alone go to the Super Bowl, but now that they are, the consensus among fans is to not waste the opportunity.

It feels like the good old days are back for fans, even if it wasn’t that long of a wait.

“It Immediately took me back to obviously when Tom Brady was still here and the Patriots were playing the Rams now they’re playing the Seahawks, I think we all remember that game," said Patriots fan Wilfredo Guzman.

New England has a chance to grab a seventh Lombardi trophy. A win on Super Bowl Sunday would give the franchise the most titles in league history.

“They have to make sure they make Sam Darnold see ghosts again, like when he used to play for the Jets right.” Guzman said.

Adam Kearney, a patriots fan from Taunton see it differently.

“Honestly looking at these past few games, they can really do whatever they put their minds too, I’m really hopeful," he said.

The team will hold a send off rally Sunday morning outside Gillette Stadium at 9:30 a.m.

It’s been eight years since the last time they could do so.

For Guzman, it’s a chance to introduce the younger generation to Pats nation.

“We go to the parades, you know after the championships, championship time baby, so we’re going to definitely see them off before they go to the Super Bowl. I wanna see my son’s face and reaction to when he actually gets to see it.”

An entire generation grew up with the Pats 20-year dynasty. Now that success is in the air again, the nostalgia is kicking in.

“It feels like I’m a kid again to be honest man. It hasn’t been around since like I was way younger, so now I'm a full-on adult and I’m seeing it again, I can celebrate the way I want to celebrate, I can enjoy it," Kearney said. "Now that its here I can’t wait and I can’t miss this opportunity to hang out with everyone. I’m just looking at like the young Adam and I just know that he’s excited, the Adam that went upstairs because we were down 28 to 3 for 5 minutes then ran downstairs once he saw that we were coming back like he’s ecstatic right now.”

The rally will begin at 9:30 a.m. with gates opening for fans at 9 a.m..

The sendoff will end at 11:15 a.m. when the Pats make the trip to T.F. Green for takeoff and Santa Clara.
