President Donald Trump announced the creation of the Board of Peace last week, with over 25 countries accepting the invitation so far.

The Board is charged with "peace-building functions in accordance with international law," with Trump serving as the inaugural chairman.

Members would serve three-year terms, unless they pay $1 billion to fund the board's activities to eventually earn permanent membership.

Members of the Board of Peace:

  • Argentina
  • Armenia
  • Azerbaijan
  • Bahrain
  • Belarus
  • Egypt
  • Hungary
  • Indonesia
  • Israel
  • Kosovo
  • Kazakhstan
  • Jordan
  • Morocco
  • Pakistan
  • Paraguay
  • Qatar
  • Saudi Arabia
  • Turkey
  • United Arab Emirates
  • Uzbekistan
  • Vietnam

Other countries, such as Norway, Sweden, Denmark, and Italy, have declined the invitation. France is also reportedly intending to decline Trump's invitation.

Canada has agreed to join the board "in principle," and is still working out the details. Trump said over the weekend that he invited Russian President Vladimir Putin to serve on the board.

Ukraine is also looking into the invitation, with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy unsure of potentially serving on the board with Russia.

The United Kingdom, Germany, and Japan have yet to announce their decision.

The Vatican announced Wednesday that Pope Leo has also been invited to join the board, but is examining the proposal.

The founding Executive Board also features Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Special Envoy Steven Witkoff, former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, and Jared Kushner.
