Man accused of assaulting Butler Hospital staff, police officer appears in court

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WJAR) — A Butler Hospital patient accused of assaulting hospital staff members and a police officer was given bail at his arraignment on Tuesday.
According to police, three Butler Hospital employees and a police officer were injured after Elias Dominguez became violent last Friday evening.
He is facing multiple charges including assault on healthcare providers, assault on a police officer and resisting arrest.
At his arraignment, Dominguez did not enter a plea on his charges.
He was given $25,000 surety bail.
Dominguez was also referred to a mental health evaluation.
