Man barricades himself inside home after stabbing in Johnston

The Johnston Police Department said its Crisis Negotiation Team responded to a home after a man barricaded himself inside after an alleged stabbing.

Police and firefighters responded to Tabor Drive around 12:30 p.m. and transported the stabbing victim to the hospital for her injuries.

Officers then established a perimeter around the home after the suspect barricaded themselves.

Police said the suspect eventually voluntarily gave themselves up and was taken into custody.

He was transported to the hospital for evaluation.

NBC 10 spoke with one neighbor who says the victim came to her front door asking for help.

"I'm still in shock honestly," she said. "I hope she's okay and I hope that everything for her will turn out good."
