Vance returns to Ohio, touts economy in speech in Toledo

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX) — Vice President JD Vance returned to his home state Thursday.
Vance spoke Thursday morning at an industrial shipping facility in Toledo.

He told workers there that the U.S. economy is ready to boom.
"We are one year into seeing lower inflation and bigger paychecks and more opportunity for the American worker," he said. "Ladies and gentlemen, I think we are on the cusp of the greatest economic year in the history of the United States of America because we're doing something new for a change."
Vance added that the White House is predicting a big year for economic growth that will be driven by federal reserve interest rate cuts and large tax refunds.
Ohio GOP candidate for governor Vivek Ramaswamy and Sen. Jon Husted also were at the event.
Vance talked about the ICE protests in Minnesota, adding that local officials need to cooperate with federal agents to cut down on the chaos.
Vance was scheduled to head there later Thursday.
