Woonsocket students still at home as snow clean up continues at schools

Kids in Woonsocket are enjoying one more snow day on Wednesday.

The City of Woonsocket is blaming it on unsafe sidewalks and road conditions.

Outside of Woonsocket High School, NBC 10 observed staff and trucks coming and going to do what they can to get students back in school .

The Woonsocket school superintendent sent an email to parents and students saying Wednesday would be another snow day after challenges clearing snow from sidewalks and parking lots.

Officials want to avoid any tragedies that may come with unplowed sidewalks and slippery roads.

Mayor Christopher Beauchamp hopes to have the sidewalks and paring lots cleared for school to open on Thursday.
