LONG ISLAND, N.Y. (WKRC) - A law enforcement officer was accused of pressuring a man to rape his own daughter for him to watch on a video call.

According to The New York Post, 38-year-old Robert Sacco, a Nassau County detective, was taken into custody following a three-month-long FBI operation.

The report, citing court documents obtained by The Post, states that Sacco was unknowingly in communications with FBI agents using encrypted apps, and allegedly offered money to whom he believed was the father of a ten-year-old girl.

Per the publication, the suspect is also accused of demanding nude images of the child, and pressuring the man to sexually abuse her while he watched on Friday. He was arrested on Saturday in Brooklyn, The Post reported.

According to the publication, Sacco reportedly admitted to having long been attracted to children and had a particular fixation on young girls, and allegedly stated that he intended on purchasing sex toys for the child.

A report from The Times Union states that Sacco allegedly attempted to set up a meeting with the 10-year-old girl and engaged in the act of masturbation to de-aged images of another undercover officer that gave them the appearance of a child.

“The details of the allegations against Mr. Sacco are absolutely vile. As a member of law enforcement, Mr. Sacco allegedly broke the very laws he swore to uphold, and now he faces serious charges and significant time in federal prison,” Special Agent Craig Tremaroli said in a statement following Sacco's arrest, per The Time's Union.

Sacco was arrested and charged with the following, per The Times Union:

  • Attempted sexual exploitation of a child

The reports state that Sacco is facing up to 25 years behind bars and a $250,000 fine.
