Female DoorDash driver forced into basement of home by three armed men: Ohio police
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKRC) — A woman working as a DoorDash delivery driver was reportedly forced into a home by three armed men.
According to WFMJ, citing a report from the Youngstown Police Department, the incident occurred Sunday night. Police responded to a home on Delason Avenue at approximately 10:30 p.m. following a report of a robbery.
Upon arrival, officers were approached by a woman who said she had been making a DoorDash delivery, WFMJ reported. She told police that when she arrived at the residence, she was greeted at the door by a man dressed in all black and wearing a black mask. The man reportedly told her he would return with cash before closing the door.
Moments later, two additional armed men allegedly emerged from each side of the house and placed guns against the woman’s back, according to the report. The man who initially met her at the door then returned carrying a “rifle-style firearm.”
The woman was forced into the basement of the home at gunpoint and told to remain there for 10 minutes, WFMJ reported. The suspects then allegedly took her car and fled the scene.
After the men left, the woman exited the basement and contacted law enforcement. Investigators later determined the residence was vacant and that the doors had been left unlocked.
As of Tuesday afternoon, no suspects were in custody in connection with the incident.
