NBC 10 has team coverage of the region as Southern New England dealt with the heavy snowfall on Monday morning.

Storm Team 10 says the substantial portion of the snowstorm has ended and the cleanup process has begun.

In the morning, the roads were still slick. Most of the attention has been on the highways and main roads. Side roads will need to be patient as municipalities work to clear the streets.

In Fall River, NBC 10’s Christian Rapoza found the roads to be very slick. The pavement was buried under inches of snow. It appeared to be a major cleanup effort.

In Warwick, Rhode Island T.F. Green International Airport announced it reopened Monday morning.

Thousands of flights have been canceled over the weekend as the snowstorm blanketed a significant part of the country.

T.F. Green also cancelled some flights but announced around 7:00 a.m. that it was fully operational and ready to support passengers.

However, the airport did advise travelers to monitor flight status for any delays or cancellations.

It hasn't been easy for many travelers.

"I've been trying to get back home, it's been quite miserable. I booked a last-minute flight thinking it was going to be available and apparently the plane came in last night so they did leave on time and it took me over three hours to get an uber so I missed the flight and now I'm trying to get my money back," said Sam Sternfield from Florida.

NBC 10’s Molly Levine traveled the roads to see the conditions and found that they were treacherous and advised to travel slowly.

In the morning, snowplows were still working the roads.

Later on, Levine drove around Providence and saw a number of people trying to clear out their driveways.

Some of the roads were filled with cars, but that didn't defy the city's parking ban as it was a designated parking street.

Plow driver Bobby Martorelli told NBC 10 that it was a rough night with about 17 to 18 inches of snow.

He said while it wasn't hard to move the snow, it did take time to accomplish the goal.

If you could stay home on Monday, it was better to do so.

Both Massachusetts and Rhode Island lifted their truck ban.
