Providence restaurant struck twice in a month by vehicles

A Providence restaurant is damaged after two vehicles crashed into it in within a month.

Police said they responded to Y Shabu Shabu on West Fountain Street Sunday night after a vehicle struck the building.

Officers said the driver, 43-year-old Juan Rodriguez, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence.

Police said Rodriguez was issued 9 traffic summons.

The crash is under investigation.

On Sunday Dec. 28, police said they responded at 1 a.m. for a report of a vehicle that struck the building.

The vehicle, described as a pickup truck with a partial license plate of “2AR,” fled the scene.

Police said it has not been located.

No injuries were reported.
