Last minute shoppers out to prepare for winter storm
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WJAR) — Many shoppers were out grabbing last minute groceries this morning in preparation for the snow.
Shoppers were out getting groceries, medications and other last minute essentials before the snow moved in.
Snow plows and salt trucks were out for hours and grocery stores continued to see people walk in and load their carts with food, water, and supplies to get them through the next few days.
Some last minute shoppers had trouble getting groceries while others were just excited to get home and watch the Patriots game.
"This was actually the first available pick up I could find," one said.
The Massachusetts Department of Transportation and Rhode Island Gov. Dan McKee both implemented truck travel bans in place until at least noon on Jan. 26.
Other drivers are encouraged to stay off the road.
