Crews put out fire in Little Compton
LITTLE COMPTON, R.I. (WJAR) — A fire in Little Compton led to the East Bay Tanker Task Force being deployed on Tuesday.
That fire broke out at approximately 12:45 p.m. in a car in front of a detached garage and loft on Old Harbor Road, according to Little Compton Fire Chief Richard Petrin. It then spread to that structure.
The fire reportedly took 20 minutes to get under control. Two people were inside the home by the garage at the time, which only sustained smoke damage.
The Warren Fire Department, who assisted in putting out the fire, credited the Little Compton Fire Department for "an aggressive primary attack," saying that the odds were against them and that the interoperability of the East Bay's fire departments was critical.
The cause of the fire is currently unknown.
