Cranston police share footage of suspect vehicle in hit-and-run that injured woman
CRANSTON, R.I. (WJAR) — Cranston police shared footage of the suspect vehicle in a hit-and-run crash that injured a local influencer last week.
Police said they are seeking public's help for information about the crash, witnesses to the crash, or anyone who may have footage of the vehicle.
According to police, they were called to Budlong Road and Everett Road at around 5:19 p.m. on Jan. 11 for a report of a pedestrian crash.
A husband and wife, later identified as social media food influencer Patty Jeffrey and her husband Tom Paolino, were walking eastbound on Everett Road.
Cranston police said they approached the intersection with Budlong Road and entered the roadway after believing it was safe to cross.
Police said a silver or gray SUV overtook a vehicle that was stopped to allow the pedestrian to cross, and went through the intersection without its headlights on.
That SUV struck both Jeffrey and Paolino, according to officials.
The SUV then fled the crash.

"We have what we believe is a Honda/CRV silver/grey and we are expanding our search for this vehicle now that we have video evidence and a picture of the vehicle leaving the scene. Our network of Flock cameras will now play a role in this investigation as it progresses," Cranston Police Department said in a statement.

Jeffrey, also known as food influencer Patty J, sustained broken bones in her leg and foot.
"When I went to get up, I knew immediately that something was wrong with my left leg and I was just yelling, 'My ankle, my ankle, my foot, my foot,' and when I put pressure on it, it was very bad," she told NBC 10 on Saturday.
Paolino was not injured, police said.
