Cranston house fire that injured 3 firefighters deemed accidental

CRANSTON, R.I. (WJAR) — The State Fire Marshal's Office said improperly disposed smoking material caused a house fire that injured three firefighters.
The fire occurred at a home on Central Street on Tuesday morning.
The roof of the home partially collapsed due to the fire.

According to Cranston firefighters, the fire became explosive when crews opened a second-floor door while searching for the origin of the fire.
Three firefighters were injured from the impact, officials said.

According to the firefighters union, the three firefighters were transported to the hospital and were released.
Fire officials said the house was deemed a total loss.
