The country star visited a health center in Nashville for a Therapeutic Plasma Exchange, a process that costs $10,000, according to Next Health’s website. The process consists of removing the patient’s blood “to eliminate inflammatory proteins, toxins, and cellular waste.”

The “How Do I Live” singer documented the entire process which she shared via Instagram with the caption, “listening to my body and choosing what feels supportive for this season of healing, especially after a very busy year of filming and touring. I demand so much from my body and it’s incredibly important to me to take the best care of it I possibly can. This is my second round of plasma exchange with @nexthealth to help clear micro-toxins, such as mold and microplastics and this time, i’ve added stem cells to encourage overall repair.”

She also gives a detailed explanation of what the process exactly is. “Therapeutic Plasma Exchange, also known as TPE or plasmapheresis (“plasma-fur-ee-sis”), is a medical treatment that removes the liquid portion of blood, known as plasma, which contains proteins, antibodies, toxins, inflammatory agents, and other substances, and replaces it with fresh albumin.”

Rimes also notes that she is fortunate to be able to get this procedure knowing not everyone is able to do so. “I also want to say this with care I’m very aware that access to treatments like this isn’t universal. I share with sensitivity and humility, not as a prescription, but as information about what’s been working for me.”

You might remember, in June of last year, the singer was on stage in Washington when her teeth fell out in the middle of a song.

After the mishap she again updated her fans on the bizarre occurrence saying, “So last night, I was on stage in the middle of ‘One Way Ticket’ I feel something pop in my mouth. And if you’ve ever been around, you know I’ve had a lot of dental surgeries, and I have a bridge in the front. It fell out in the middle of my song last night.”

She continued about the faux pas, “It was the most epic experience ever. I don’t usually have firsts in my career. That was a first and hopefully a last.” She ended the video by saying, “In case anybody as an issue on stage or ever and feels embarrassed by it, just watch this video again and it’ll remind you that the show can go on even in the midst of sheer utter embarrassment.”
