WEST WARWICK, R.I. (WJAR) — In this edition of Ask Alison, an NBC 10 News viewer asked a question about an old Rhode Island grammar school.
A viewer asked: "My old grammar school St John's in Artic formally known as Msgr Vincent has been abandoned for years. It's heartbreaking to see it crumbling before our eyes along with St James school which is a few mins away. Do you know what is happening with these buildings?”
The diocese told Alison that Saint James Parish and School in West Warwick’s Arctic Village merged with St. Mary’s and St. John’s to become Saint John and James Parish.
Saint James School closed around 2009–2010, and both the school and church buildings were later sold and demolished.
