WASHINGTON (TNND) — The White House said that the mass deportations carried out by the Trump administration has resulted in lower housing costs for Americans.

“Through mass deportations, the Trump Administration is freeing up resources, revitalizing opportunity, and restoring safety — delivering tangible results that put American citizens first,” the White House said in a statement on Wednesday.

The Trump administration put out a chart that showed the change in median list prices year over year for homes.

“Overall, home prices have dropped for the first time in more than two years as housing affordability shows signs of improvement under the Trump Administration,” the statement reads.

The administration credits the housing prices going down due to illegal migrant population dropping in major cities.

According to the chart, change in median list price year over year in Austin, Texas is -7.30%.

In San Diego, the price is -6.70% and in Miami, Florida, it’s -4.30%.

When President Donald Trump was first elected, one of his main priorities was mass deportations.

In September 2025, it was reported that almost two million illegal migrants either were deported or self-deported.

“The numbers don’t lie: 2 million illegal aliens have been removed or self-deported in just 250 days— proving that President Trump’s policies and Secretary Noem’s leadership are working and making American communities safe,” Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin said in a statement last year.
