Trump says Greenland 'framework' deal has been reached, won't impose tariffs on Europe

WASHINGTON (TNND) — President Donald Trump on Wednesday announced that a framework of a future deal with Greenland was reached.
“Based upon a very productive meeting that I have had with the Secretary General of NATO, Mark Rutte, we have formed the framework of a future deal with respect to Greenland and, in fact, the entire Arctic Region,” Trump wrote on TRUTH Social.
He said the deal would be beneficial to the U.S. and the nations of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization.
“Based upon this understanding, I will not be imposing the Tariffs that were scheduled to go into effect on February 1st,” Trump’s post continued. “Additional discussions are being held concerning The Golden Dome as it pertains to Greenland.”
Earlier this month, Trump threatened to impose tariffs on countries that didn’t support his plan to control Greenland.
He announced that Vice President J.D. Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Special Envoy Steve Witkoff would be responsible for the negotiations.
“They will report directly to me,” Trump’s post concluded. “Thank you for your attention to this matter!”
