Trump DOJ says fmr CNN host Don Lemon is 'on notice' following storming MN church
WASHINGTON (TNND) — Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights at the Department of Justice, Harmeet Dhillon put former CNN host Don Lemon on notice after he stormed a church in Minnesota with protesters.
Newsmax host Todd Starnes posted that Lemon defended storming of a church service over the weekend alongside anti-Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) protesters.
“This is what the First Amendment is about, the freedom to protest,” Lemon told viewers,” Starnes wrote on X. “I’m sure people here don’t like it, but protests are not comfortable.”
“Does that make Don Lemon's private residence fair game for protesters, too?” Starnes’ post continued. “Are they allowed to storm in his house all in the name of the First Amendment?”
Dhillon quote tweeted Starnes on X and said that Lemon was “on notice.”
“A house of worship is not a public forum for your protest!” she wrote. “It is a space protected from exactly such acts by federal criminal and civil laws! Nor does the First Amendment protect your pseudo journalism of disrupting a prayer service. You are on notice!”
On Sunday, anti-ICE protesters stormed Cities Church in Minnesota and accused the pastor of being the acting ICE field office director in the state.
Don Lemon was amongst the protesters.
The Civil Rights department of the Justice Department announced that it would be conducting an investigation into what happened.
Minnesota has been in the news due to ICE officers coming into the state for immigration crackdown and alleged fraud.
