This isn't Richardson's first arrest. In August, 2025 the Olympian track star was arrested on a domestic violence charge at the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport. CBS said news said the incident occurred at a TSA checkpoint where Richardson, a Dallas native, got into an argument with a man.
CBS News said police viewed security footage and found that Richardson allegedly pushed the man, causing him to fall into a nearby column. CBS News continues, the video also showed the man attempting to walk away from Richardson, leading her to throw a pair of headphones at him.
The man explained to law enforcement that Richardson was his girlfriend and that he didn't want to pursue charge, CBS News reports.
According to CBS News, in 2023 the track at John Kincaide Stadium in South Dallas, where Richardson got her start, was renamed the Sha’Carri Richardson Track following a unanimous vote by the Dallas ISD board of trustees, and Nov. 10 was officially declared Sha’Carri Richardson Day in Dallas.
