Influencer testifies fraud in California is likely worse than Minnesota fraud
WASHINGTON (TNND) — During a hearing on Minnesota fraud on Wednesday, California GOP Rep. Kevin Kiley asked influencer Nick Shirley his thoughts on fraud in California.
“Have you gotten any sense, or have you seen any signs that there that are sort of similar to what aroused your suspicions in Minnesota?” Kiley asked Shirley.
“Yeah and fraud in California might be worse than fraud in Minnesota,” Shirley said.
When asked to elaborate, Shirley said that $24 billion went missing for homelessness.
“Twenty-four billion in homelessness, and yet the homelessness population went up, and a state audit found out that they couldn’t even figure out where the money went or what the outcomes linked to that spending were,” Kiley said in response.
Earlier this month, conservative influencer Benny Johnson said he was going to California to expose fraud in the state.
“The American taxpayer needs to see first-hand how criminal California fraud is robbing our nation blind,” Johnson wrote on X.
He requested help from the public on this investigation and asked for tips.
Last month, Shirley made headlines for going to Minnesota and filming multiple daycare centers that appeared vacant.
Shirley alleged that millions of taxpayer dollars were funding these daycare centers, meaning that fraud was being funded.
