Chips among thousands of products recalled over possible rodent, bird contamination

INDIANAPOLIS (WKRC) - Thousands of products were recalled over a possible rodent and bird contamination.
According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Gold Star Distribution, Inc. has issued a recall for all FDA-regulated products due to potential contamination from rodents and birds.
The agency found the company's facility operating under unsanitary conditions, including the presence of rodent excreta, urine and bird droppings.
These conditions pose a significant risk of contamination with harmful microorganisms, including Salmonella, which can cause serious illness.
The recall affects a wide range of products, including drugs, medical devices, cosmetics, dietary supplements, and human and pet food products.
The products were distributed to numerous stores across several states, including Minnesota, North Dakota and the State of Indiana.
Consumers and retailers are advised “destroy the products as soon as possible,” and provide proof of destruction to Gold Star at their Minneapolis address.
Refunds will be provided upon request. No illnesses have been reported so far. For a complete list of affected products, visit the FDA website at fda.gov.
