Air Force One heads back to Washington after minor electrical issue: White House
WASHINGTON (TNND) — President Donald Trump's plane, Air Force One, is heading back to the Washington-area after experiencing minor mechanical issues, according to the White House.
The plane was turned around out of an abundance of caution, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt told reporters on board. The lights briefly went out in the cabin after takeoff.
Leavitt also joked that the Qatari jet, which Trump accepted as a gift, sounded "much better" right now.
Trump was set to depart for Davos, Switzerland, on Tuesday to speak at the World Economic Forum.
As the president was originally departing, he spoke to reporters, saying he did not know what to expect out of the trip.
"This will be an interesting trip," Trump said.
He assured Americans will be "well represented."
For the forum, he teased an announcement about "Housing Affordability." Also on the forefront, plans for his so-called Board of Peace and the president's recent interest in Greenland.
