Parking and roads affected by snowfall
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WJAR) — Parking bans have gone into effect ahead of heavy snowfall expected Sunday night, while road conditions are also expected to impacted.

MassDOT said that 3,000 pieces of snowplowing equipment and crews were to be deployed as needed.
"Approximately three-to-six inches of snow is forecast across the state," the department said.
MassDOT also gave the following advice for travelers during the snow:
- Download theMass511mobile app or visitwww.mass511.comto view live cameras, travel times, real-time traffic conditions, and project information before setting out on the road. Users can subscribe to receive text and email alerts for traffic conditions.
- Dial 511 and select a route to hear real-time conditions.
- Follow@MassDOTon X, (formerly known as Twitter),to receive regular updates on road and traffic conditions.
New Bedford will implement as parking ban beginning at 6:30 p.m. Sunday.
The city said that violations of the ban will result in a $50 ticket.
- There will be no parking on the following streets:
- Wood Street (Acushnet Avenue to Belleville Avenue)
- Acushnet Avenue (Tarkiln Hill Road to Coggeshall Street)
- Nash Road (Acushnet Avenue to Belleville Avenue)
- Ashley Boulevard (Nash Road to Coggeshall Street)
- County Street (Purchase Street to Cove Road)
- Cottage Street (Durfee Street to Union Street)
- Mill Street (Kempton Street to Pleasant Street)
- Kempton Street (Brownell Avenue to Pleasant Street)
- The Downtown Business District (County Street to JFK Boulevard, Kempton Street to Walnut Street)
- Dartmouth Street (Allen Street to Matthew Street)
- Rivet Street (Dartmouth Street to JFK Boulevard)

Fall River has implemented a parking ban until 10 a.m. on Jan. 19.
"Parking is only allowed on the north side of city streets that run east and west and on the west side of streets that run north and south," the city said.
South Kingstown will have a parking ban in effect from 6 p.m. Sunday to 6 a.m. on Jan. 19.
No parking will be permitted on any public roadway, municipal parking lot, or municipally owned parking area.
Violators will be subject to ticketing and towing.
East Providence will implement a parking ban beginning at 6 p.m. Sunday.
Warwick has a parking ban in effect until noon on Jan. 19.
Somerset has a parking ban in effect until noon on Jan. 19.
