North Providence house fire caused by improperly disposed smoking material

NORTH PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WJAR) — The State Fire Marshal's Office said the house fire in North Providence on Wednesday was caused by improperly disposed smoking material.
The fire, which was determined to be accidental, left a home on Alexander Street temporarily uninhabitable, according to North Providence fire officials.

Firefighters said the fire started outside the home before engulfing the back of the building.
No one was injured in the fire.
