CRANTON, R.I. (WJAR) — The Cranston Police Department said Friday that a husband and wife were victims of a hit-and-run at the intersection of Budlong Road and Everett Road earlier this week.
Police said the two victims attempted to cross the road on Sunday after they saw a vehicle attempt to turn onto Woodbridge Road.
An SUV then overtook the other vehicle and struck the 59-year-old husband and 55-year-old wife.
Police said the SUV had no headlights on and fled the scene.
The husband was uninjured, but his wife was believed to have suffered a broken ankle.
The incident was under investigation.
