PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WJAR) — Providence police said two people were shot Tuesday morning.

According to police, the shooting occurred on Ayrault Street at around 10:30 a.m.

Authorities at the scene told NBC 10 News that two females were transported with gunshot wounds.

Police are waiting for a search warrant to enter a residence on the street, officials said.

Providence police did not share additional information about the shooting.
