'The Traitors' urges fans to stop cyberbullying cast members
“The Traitors” has asked the show’s fans to pull back on online harassment and bullying.

In a statement posted on various social media sites over the weekend, the Peacock show acknowledged online fans negativity towards certain cast members.
“We are committed to making our casts feel safe, respected, and supported — on screen and off. The cast of ‘The Traitors’ are real people, and what happens in the game should never lead to cyberbullying or harassment. There’s a difference between discussing a show and targeting individuals. Let’s not ruin the passion for this show with unwarranted negativity and personal attacks. We appreciate your support,” the Instagram and X posts read.
One “Traitors” cast member also made her own social media post regarding the cyberbullying this season. Lisa Rina, a former cast member on “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills,” took to her Instagram Stories to defend “The Bachelor” alum Colton Underwood despite their on-screen drama.
“The fact that the backlash is happening, I feel horrible about because I don’t want to hurt anybody. I am here to play the game and have fun. And Colton is a great nemesis for me. We had so much fun. I’ve only always had a great time with him. So please, guys, be gentle. It’s a game. It’s a TV show. We’re all doing the best we can. Don’t send death threats or do anything to jeopardize somebody’s family. We had so much fun doing it. It was really hard,” Rina wrote.

This isn’t the first time a Peacock series has issued a statement asking fans to be kinder to its cast members. During “Love Island USA” over the summer, Peacock began an episode with an anti-bullying statement.
"The keyword in ‘Love Island’ is...love. We love our fans. We love our islanders, we don't love cyberbullying, harassment or hate," the text read. The show also posted on its official Instagram account sharing a similar message.

“The Traitors” became an instant success when season one aired in 2023. The show has won eight Emmy Awards so far, including Outstanding Host for a Reality or Reality Competition Program for Alan Cumming and Outstanding Reality Competition Program.
