Polyamorous Grammy winner reveals if his three girlfriends can date other guys
Relationships take work, especially if you’re dating three women at the same time, which is the case for Grammy-winning singer Ne-Yo.
This week, the R&B hitmaker stopped by Sherri Shepherd’s talk show to explain his seemingly complicated love life.

Shepherd immediately asked the question on everyone’s mind: “You gotta explain to me, how does this work?” Ne-Yo said, “I’m not in three relationships. I’m in one relationship with three people.”
Yeah, we’re going to need a lot more context, pal.
Following his 2023 divorce, which was marked by cheating accusations from ex-wife Crystal Renay, the “So Sick” singer realized that traditional monogamy wasn’t for him.

He told Shepherd, “I made the decision that I was never going to tell another lie to a woman ever again in life. I own the things that I did in that marriage to mess it up, I only completely, and I decided I didn’t want to be the reason that anybody ever felt like that ever again.”
Ne-Yo then revealed to Sherri how he introduced the idea of a more non-traditional arrangement to the women he'd been seeing.
He admitted, “I went to one of the women, one of the three, [who] I’ve been with a little longer than the other ones. I basically went to her and said, ‘Listen, you know I rock with you, you know I love you, but I have to be honest with you, it’s not just you. I would love for you to meet these other women and if we can figure out a way to do something together, cool. If not, that’s cool, too.’”

Spoiler: his girlfriend didn't kick him to the curb. Ne-Yo said, “I let her decide, I let them choose [and] everybody chose to stick around.” Aw, isn't that sweet.
And, fortunately, the "Closer" singer doesn't mind multi-tasking. He shared, "Group time is just as important as individual time."

Shepherd, intrigued, then asked, "Can they date other men?" Ne-Yo emphatically responded, "No." Um, hello, double-standard. So, what gives, Ne-Yo?
“OK, so here’s the thing, I’ve made no request for exclusivity of any of these women. I’ve never said, ‘If it ain’t me, it ain’t nothing.’ I’ve never said that. I didn’t ask for them to be with me... they said they want to be with me.”

Ne-Yo added, “They gave me their exclusivity, meaning, if you gave it to me, it’s mine and that’s that.” Honestly, is this not begging for a TLC reality show?
It’s just nice to know there’s someone for everyone or maybe two or three.
