Holy Toledo!: Let's go to one of America's best ice-skating trails

The Ribbon at Todleo's Glass City Riverwalk has been named one of the top ice-skating rinks in the country by Modern Living and other publications, (Amazing America TV)

The Glass City Riverwalk in Toledo, Ohio, is a must-stop destination in the Buckeye State. Nestled along the Maumee River, the riverwalk features 80 acres of trails and green space, offering family fun and dining year-round.

But its star winter attraction, The Ribbon, is bringing visitors to northwest Ohio by the thousands.

The Ribbon is a 1,000-foot-long looping trail that connects to a 5,000-square-foot ice pond. In just two short years, it has gained high praise, even being voted one of the best ice-skating trails in America by several travel magazines. So we sent

Amazing America’s Cameron Fontana to check it out and see if they got it right.

Twenty-five thousand square feet of refrigerated ice was used to turn this downtown green space into a winter wonderland. Once the ice thaws and spring sets in, the trail becomes a roller/inline-skating, scooter-riding, and social hub.

Since its opening in 2023, the Glass City Riverwalk has welcomed more than 600,000 visitors.
