A Coventry woman pleaded no contest to an animal cruelty charge.

A deputy in Indian River County wrangled a 9-foot boa after a resident found the nonnative snake in her yard, prompting a safe capture.

Coventry Animal Control said that the German Shephard who was seized from a woman on Dec. 19, 2025 after a wellbeing check was adopted Friday.
