After days of warnings that he was armed and dangerous, a Georgia teenager wanted in a weekend shooting is in custody because his own father turned him in, authorities say.

Lequan Stephens was turned in on Tuesday by his father, the Clayton County Sheriff’s Office confirmed.

Stephens had been sought for a shooting that left a juvenile with gunshot wounds to the face and neck, a manhunt that drew widespread attention across the metro area.

Sheriff Levon Allen issued an alert Sunday morning, describing Stephens as armed and dangerous and wanted on charges of aggravated assault and property damage. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation also secured warrants for him in an unrelated shooting in DeKalb County near Redan Middle School.

According to WSB-TV, Stephens was accused of firing into a vehicle on Lovejoy Crossing Lane on Jan. 17th, striking the juvenile passenger.

Right now, it's not clear how badly that juvenile was hurt, nor do we yet know what exact charges Stephens will face.
