Boston man convicted of sex trafficking child to Rhode Island

BOSTON, Mass. (WJAR) — The United States Attorney's Office said a Boston man was convicted of sex trafficking and transporting a minor to Rhode Island in order to engage in prostitution.
26-year-old Tramonte Jamier Queen was convicted of one count of sex trafficking of a child and one count of transportation a minor with intent to engage in criminal sexual activity.
The office said that Queen recruited a 16-year-old to engage in prostitution in January 2022.
Queen used "provocative" photos to attract sex buyers online, and had them meet the 16-year-old in the basement of his mother's Dorchester home.
He then began trafficking the victim from hotels in Rhode Island.
Queen was originally arrested in February 2022 while driving with the victim and was indicted in November 2023.
The office said the sex trafficking of a child and transportation charges each carry a sentence of at least 10 years and up to life in prison, at least five years of supervised release and a fine of up to $250,000.
