Buc-ee's announces plans to build the world's largest convenience store

(WKRC) - Buc-ee’s, the Texas-based convenience store chain known for its massive stores and spotless restrooms, plans to open what it says will be the world’s largest convenience store in Fort Pierce, Florida.
Southern Living reported the proposed store would span 76,245 square feet, surpassing the current record held by a Buc-ee’s in Luling, Texas, which measures 75,593 square feet. The Fort Pierce location is planned near Interstate 95 and Indrio Road.
Plans call for 120 gas pumps, 18 electric vehicle charging stations and more than 700 parking spaces. The project is in the final stages of approval, and construction could take nearly two years once approvals are finalized.
The company is targeting a late 2027 or early 2028 opening, according to Southern Living.
Local officials say the store is expected to bring an economic boost to the area, with the potential to create more than 175 jobs.
Buc-ee’s currently operates two locations in Florida, in Daytona Beach and St. Augustine. Another Florida store is planned for Ocala.
