PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WJAR) — A Butler Hospital patient is facing charges after allegedly attacking staff members and a police officer at the hospital on Friday night.

34-year-old Elias Dominguez was charged with three counts of assault on healthcare providers, one count of assault on a police officer, one count of disorderly conduct, and one count of resisting arrest.

Officials said the incident resulted in the injury of three staff members and one police officer.

The hospital also said that all three Butler employees were discharged Saturday, and that "support services" were being provided to the workforce.

According to a Providence Police spokesperson, Dominguez is currently being held pending the next session of Sixth District Court.
