Israel has recovered the remains of the final hostage from Hamas, clearing the way for the next phase of the difficult peace process in Gaza.

Ran Gvili, a 24-year-old police officer, was killed in the Hamas-led Oct. 7, 2023, attack that started the war.

"This isn’t the United States, this is for the world," Trump said at the signing.

The initiative calls for establishing an oversight body for Gaza’s reconstruction and transitional governance, chaired by Trump.

Kirk, who cofounded Turning Point USA, was assassinated in September at Utah Valley University while holding an event.
